Georgia Requirements

Residents

Resident Licensees who have been licensed for less than 20 years – 24 hours of insurance CE must be completed every two years (3 hours must be in ethics)

Resident Licensees who have been licensed for more than 20 years – visit www.Sircon.com to check your CE requirements.

Continuing education must be completed in any area the licensee is licensed in.

Non-Residents

Non-resident Licensees MAY BE EXCEPT from Georgia insurance continuing education requirements if:

  1. CE requirements in their home state are fulfilled
  2. The Licensee claims exemption during the license renewal
  3. The Licensee’s state reciprocates with Georgia’s licensees

Non-residents who fail to fulfill any of the above must complete Georgia’s CE requirements.

Carryover of Excess Credits

If Licensee completed more than the required CE hours in a two-year filing period, the excess credit may be carried over to the next renewal period. No more than 50% of required CE hours can be carryover hours, in any renewal period.

License Renewal

Licenses expire on the last day of the licensees’ birth month every other year.

License renewals must be submitted with the required fee and evidence of competed CE requirements by the expiration date. Go to www.Sircon.com to renew license.
